Uma Lou is named for my beloved spotted Catahoula Leopard dog. My floral work comes from watching plants—their textures, colors, how they relate, their wild resilience and gentle movements. The sculptural style reflects my arts, dance, and poetry background (M.F.A. Pratt Institute, BA Bard College), where balance and movement carry feeling.

I source flowers from markets, forage, and grow many in my own garden. Vessels are thrifted or made with ceramicists. I photograph every arrangement in my backyard against a weathered wall that’s part of the composition.

I provide subscriptions for businesses, bridal shops, hotels, and restaurants, sell bouquets at pop-ups, and create floral designs and installations for events and weddings.
